Friday Copy Over Coffee ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Friday Copy Over Coffee ☕ Hey {NAME} -- I have 3 interrelated stories for you today. First story: A few nights ago I told my wife I was going to bed a little bit earlier than normal. She asked why. It sounds strange, but I told her I was legitimately giddy to lay in bed and think. I was excited to just see where my thoughts would take me. "I love my thoughts," I told her. A few months ago this would be unfathomable. I would have watched YouTube and fallen asleep to a golf video or something and not thought about anything at all. Second story: The other day I was talking with someone I know about living in a city versus living in the countryside. I said I could live in the sticks & be pretty damn happy. She said, "Oh god, no way. I recently went on vacation in the mountains with nothing around. I was bored out of my mind. There was nothing to do!" I thought about this person for a bit and she has pretty low self-esteem. I can tell by the way she carries herself. It didn't surprise me that a quiet vacation in nature would bore her to death. She's absolutely not comfortable listening to her own thoughts. Third story: I know a guy who's been in prison in a foreign county for over 10 years. His experience has been pretty horrific with long periods of isolation. The only reason I think he's survived is his crazy big ego. His self-esteem is through the roof. This man loves his thoughts and he's relied on them to survive this long. Tying these stories together: Phones/internet/media are distracting us from our own thoughts and working to lower self-esteem in the process. The more you distract yourself with your phone, the more you come to rely on other people's thoughts, and the less value you give to your own thoughts. You get bored with yourself because everything on your phone is so stimulating. And ultimately you don't think you own mind is good enough. Since taking my phone addiction seriously, I've come to fall in love with my mind again. It's beautiful. I love you, mind. Hah! I hope you have a great weekend! - Derek Good Ad ✍️ InvestingOutlook.co has spent ~758K in the last 90 days driving traffic with ads like this via the Taboola content network. Our formula is: Attention + Curiosity = Click Attention is drawn in several ways. In the photo, Mr. Chaikin looks a little whacky. It's not a perfect photo. Most ads are "pretty" or look like stock photos. Imperfect stands out online. Attention is also drawn with authority: "Wall street legend". Curiosity is drawn with the prediction: "Move your money by early 2022." Everyone loves to read predictions and projections - especially anything money related. You're curious to read what an expert might be thinking. "Why is he warning me to move my money? Move it out of what into what?" I use Adbeat to find ads and do competitive research. Product Worth Checking Out [CopyHour - my unusual but highly effective copywriting course]() You might not be aware, but I've opened up CopyHour in between our January and April launches for anyone who doesn't need the extra bit of group accountability. I'm going to leave CopyHour open through this weekend before putting up the wait-list for our April '22 launch. How to Make Great Tasting Coffee ☕ - Support your local roasters by buying a good bag of beans with a roast date on it. General advice that's not a rule: coffee typically tastes better if consumed within 5-10 days of its roast date. - Buy a grinder and grind the beans yourself right before you brew a cup. It only takes a few seconds. - Brew your coffee with a Chemex or Aeropress. Kuerig's suck at making coffee and they suck for the environment. - Water matters: You're not going to believe me until you try it - good filtered water will make your coffee taste better (and it might save your life). - Temperature matters too. I brew most cups at ~183 degrees. I use Ovalware's Pour Over Kettle. Sent to: {EMAIL} [Unsubscribe]( CopyHour.com, 340 S LEMON AVE, 5007, WALNUT, CA 91789, USA
