Ning's “how I got into copywriting” story Hey {NAME} -- CopyHour Coaching sessions only

Ning's “how I got into copywriting” story  Hey {NAME} -- CopyHour Coaching sessions only happen once or twice a year. And the last time Austin & Ning coached together was in 2019. This week, we’re taking sign-ups for a round of CopyHour Coaching starting in late March / early April 2021. Austin is back after an incredible 16 months writing winning promos in the financial niche, and Ning (PaleoHacks head copywriter) is making room in his schedule after coaching 5 of the last 6 contest winners in Copy Accelerator Lite. This week, we’re looking for our next round of copywriter students who want to make a living with copywriting. We’re doing things a little differently this time around… we’re using an application process to gauge where students are at before hopping on a call. So if you’re interested in building your skills and your income with 2 months of copywriting coaching from Ning and Austin, fill out an application below! [Fill out the application and book a free call with Austin or Ning]( --- Now, here's Ning with his copywriting story: "My “how I got into copywriting” story always makes people laugh in surprise. Because when I started, I was in graduate school at Colorado State University studying elephant seals. Yup, elephant seals. You know, those giant, half ton monsters that lay out on California beaches and make funny noises? Well, I took muscle biopsies from those things and grew their cells in a lab. Day after day, I’d be transferring cultures and pipetting stuff back and forth… But when I saw my professor’s life, I knew that it wasn’t where I wanted to go. He was grumpy every day… picked on his graduate students… and his entire life consisted of writing grants that basically begged the government for research money. I hated it… and I needed a way out. So I started learning copywriting to earn a few extra bucks (anyone who’s been through graduate school knows… they don’t pay at all!) I started going through CopyHour… I wrote a few sales letters… And I started posting them on online forums to get feedback. That’s when something magical happened. A guy on the forums started commenting and giving me advice. And unlike the other people on the forum, I could tell this guy knew his stuff. So I listened to him. Every time he gave me some tips, I’d rewrite the letter and use his advice. After a year and a half of this kind of mentorship, he sent me an email that started with “Do you want to make some money?” Obviously, I said yes… but that’s not the crazy part. The week after, I was listening to some copywriting podcast put on by some famous guy (you’d definitely know his name)... And he was interviewing the guy that was mentoring me! It suddenly struck me how lucky I had gotten… This random guy from the forums was a BIG deal. That guy’s name was Dan Ferrari. You might know his “olive oil” story that’s quite famous with the CopyHour group. Today he’s one of the best copywriters in the business… one that’s brought in millions of dollars for top publishers like Agora and Motley Fool. Him and his business partner flew in to Denver to meet me. They gave me a writing assignment. For a month, I hustled my butt off to write it. When I delivered, they told me they were “very happy” with it and wanted to give me another assignment. That semester, I walked into my professor’s office at my graduate school and told him simply… “I quit.” It was one of the most memorable moments of my life. Because after that, my life transformed. Dan and his team (now known as the copywriting agency “Dig In”) flew me to Hawaii for 2 months to write a project with Dan. After that, I traveled for a year… working the whole time from my laptop. After that, I looked at a map of the United States and asked myself “where do I want to live?” My eyes landed on San Diego, so I packed my things up in my car and moved. And that’s how I met Austin Lee, the other coach for CopyHour, and Derek, the creator of CopyHour. Not only that… But over the next few years, copywriting has given me infinite vacation days (it’s up to me!) and has allowed me to travel to some amazing places… Here’s me, Austin, and Dan in Bali. We went for a month last year, just surfing and writing. I’ve taken my girlfriend on random, spur-of-the-moment adventures to Hawaii… Baja California… and Cancun, Mexico…  And that’s not even the best part. In my normal life in San Diego, I get to surf in my off time… at hours where there’s no one else in the water… because everyone else is at work! As you can see, copywriting has opened incredible doors for me… and it can open them for you too. Remember, I was a nobody… slaving away in a graduate school dungeon… when a call from destiny changed my life. That “call from destiny” is in my opinion the #1 thing you need to make it in the copywriting world… And that’s a MENTOR. Someone who can simply show you what to do and what not to do… so you don’t have to figure it out on your own. That one simple secret shortcuts literal YEARS off how long it takes to “make it” in copywriting. For me, it was Dan. For you, your “call from destiny” is staring you in the face right now. It’s ME, writing you this email. But here’s the secret… if you want to live the same life of freedom I lead… You have to be able to recognize it as your own “call from destiny”... And you have to take action before the opportunity passes you by. My name is Ning Li, and I’m one of the CopyHour coaches that works with Derek to train young up-and-coming copywriters. Our coaching program is RARELY open. And that’s not just a marketing ploy. It’s actually true. My writing schedule (and Austin’s) is constantly full… and this coaching thing is a side gig we do for fun. As it is, the coaching program is open maybe 2-3 times a year… and even then, the spots are extremely limited. Let me clarify this by saying this is an extremely rare and valuable opportunity for you. If you want to drastically change your life… quit your job… and become a copywriter, IT IS ABSOLUTELY POSSIBLE. But like I said, you have to recognize your “call from destiny” and you have to take action. When I started, I was eating ramen every night in graduate school. When Austin started, he lived in his mom’s basement. We’ve coached over 40 CopyHour students now… and they were all standing right where you are now. They’re no different from you. Yet just one simple 2 month coaching program has TRANSFORMED some of their lives… Joel B. went from not having written a single sales letter… to landing a $500 project writing a Spanish Language course promo just 10 days into our program. By the end of the 2 months, he had a contract for another $2000 project. By the end of 3 months, he had a $5000 project. That was a year and a half ago. Today, he’s on retainer with Dig.In, the same agency I started with. Josh, another student, had a $12,000 month while he was in the coaching program with us!!! That’s crazy!!! Eric J, a student from Singapore, landed another retainer job just a few months in (a retainer is where a client pays you a set amount every month to write for them). We have countless other success stories. And I’d like the next one to be YOU. Like I said, Austin and I are opening up our Spring 2021 session of coaching to just 10 members. It’s a 2 month program and it has the potential to absolutely change your life. Keep in mind, these spots ALWAYS GO FAST. And once we hit 10 members, we won’t take any more. We expect the recruiting period to just be about a week. So if you’re interested in this at all, I urge you, don’t hesitate. Destiny is calling. And if you don’t try… you could be kicking yourself afterwards. [Fill out the application first,]( then we'll reach out to book a FREE call with either me or Austin, so we can see if you’re the right fit for the program. This is your chance. And I promise you… if you come in with an open mind and willingness to work hard, we’ll show you there’s nothing you can’t accomplish. We believe in you and we’ll hold your hand the entire way. And that’s it. There’s really nothing more to say, other than click the link to fill out the application. Thanks for reading, and I can’t wait to meet you so we can write YOUR story together. - Ning [Fill out the application and book a free call with Austin or Ning]( Sent to: {EMAIL} [Unsubscribe]( CopyHour.com, 340 S LEMON AVE, 5007, WALNUT, CA 91789
