TikTok Tuesday. I bookmark them because I think they help the “feelings” part of change. I have a goo [Coach Tony]( Coach Tony [@tonystubblebine]( TikTok Tuesday. I bookmark them because I think they help the “feelings” part of change. I have a good one below along those lines, that demonstrates how limited it is to only rely on facts and information. That’s true even if you think of yourself as a rational person (as I do). ___ The term “Advantaged Training” I wonder if deliberate practice as a concept is misunderstood and ignored because it sounds boring. Instead, I prefer to say advantaged training. This [video of a high school woman practicing basketball]( demonstrates a number of advantages over how I practiced at that age: automated rebounding, simulated defenders, simulated contact. She gets more value out of her time because she has access to advantaged training. So what advantages are available to you when you are trying to get better? Find them and take them. ___ Taking moments to mope. We should walk a middle ground where we practice habitually positive self-talk, but also don’t waste energy denying feelings that bubble up. Do you see yourself in either of these New Year Resolutions videos? [Bill Belichick isn’t ready to talk about resolutions]( and [I’m done fighting my demons, they are in charge now](. Have the feeling. A pandemic is a lot of weight to be carrying at a time when people like me are talking about New Year’s Resolutions. ___ To what end? I file a lot of things under a question of purpose, “To what end?” So as a lover of MasterClass videos, I laughed at this sketch: [Guy who took every MasterClass](. That’s learning without purpose. ___ It takes more than knowledge This is a great video, “[Above all else, I believe in science](.” But if you believe in science why don’t your actions match? I’m not talking about anti-vaxxers here — we all do this thing where our actions don’t match the information we have. This is why I end up talking a lot about emotional rewiring and environmental design and an entire kitchen sink of tactics that are required for real change. ___ I think this will ring true about the negotiating that goes into [project management](. ___ I love [people living their best life]( and that’s how I have that clip filed. ___ I link to a lot of Medium articles and that’s partly because I run three publications there. These publications are different ways to level up: Better Humans, Better Marketing, Better Programming. Medium pays publishers and authors based on a subscription program… so if you are ever considering signing up for Medium [please use my membership link]( so that I get credit.
