I sent the longevity assessment Friday mainly as a tool for you. But I also found the results inspiri [Coach Tony]( Coach Tony [@tonystubblebine]( I sent the longevity assessment Friday mainly as a tool for you. But I also found the results inspiring. Here’s one: 76.1% of readers say they have a sense of purpose. I love writing for readers who are so clear on their purpose. If you know you have a purpose, what is it? If you don’t, is that something you are looking for? Where are you looking? ___ Stop Microplastics from entering the brain. This study kept crossing my radar over the weekend. “The study shows that microplastics, especially microplastics with the size of 2 micrometers or less, start to be deposited in the brain even after short-term ingestion within seven days, resulting in apoptosis, and alterations in immune responses, and inflammatory responses,” says [study]( author Dr. Seong-Kyoon Choi.” [[source](] This [WashPo article]( has what to do to avoid ingesting microplastics. Just try to have less plastic around what you eat, i.e. don’t drink out of plastic bottles, don’t heat food in plastic containers, etc. ___ Do dope sh*t. I often think of a Dave Chappelle story about the first time he met Kanye West. It ends with Kanye explaining to a friend how he ended up in the studio with Dave watching unreleased footage: [because my life is dope and I do dope sh*t](. I spent part of the weekend chopping wood with [Jason Shen](. For me, this was “dope.” Jason is a world record holder, entrepreneur, writer and has published a lot of great advice in Better Humans. So it’s dope that I get to hang out with people like this. But also chopping wood was new to both of us and it hit a sweet spot for physicality and engagement, trying to swing both hard and accurately and then being completely surprised by whether the wood would split. You’ve probably chopped wood before, but as a first-timer, I thought it was dope. ___ Work on Grip Strength. Grip strength is a fitness concept that is often mentioned in longevity work, but rarely expanded on. [Zachary Walston]( does an excellent deep dive on why grip strength matters and what you should do about it in: [Your Grip Strength is a Primary Marker of Health and Longevity](. The exercise I’m doing most often now is hanging from a pullup bar. ___ Be great at all parts of your job. [This old football clip]( is supposedly highlights of #84 John Taylor. But I always focus on the role of #80 Jerry Rice in making those highlights happen through hustle and blocking. I have long filed this clip away as an example of how high performers are great at all parts of their job. Rice is in the hall of fame for catching footballs and turning them into touchdowns, but here he is being an excellent blocker as well. ___ I’m repeating a promotion Medium ran last week for my lessons on Knowable. Very honored to be one of the first teachers they highlighted. "Lastly: Tony Stubblebine, Medium writer and [Better Humans]( publisher, has [three new audio lessons on Knowable]( (topics: optimizing your iPhone, training your brain’s awareness-focus loop, and using interstitial journaling to manage tasks). For access to Knowable’s full library of 1000+ expert-led audio lessons on business, entrepreneurship, and personal performance, [click here]( — and if you join, you’ll get a 75% discount on an annual membership in celebration of our new [partnership](." Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
