How to get started on your year-end review to glean important learning from your personal 2020—

How to get started on your year-end review to glean important learning from your personal 2020—and prep for a brand new year. [Coach.me Logo]( Coach.me Newsletter Would you do an entire year's worth of work and then fail to pick up the paycheck? Of course not. Especially not when that year is 2020! All of our experiences this year should translate into some lessons we can learn from. But unless you consciously reflect on your year, you'll miss those important lessons. That learning is part of your "paycheck" for having lived through those experiences. You've heard of weekly and monthly reviews—they're a standard part of popular productivity systems. But they often focus on what you have left undone. I developed this way of annual reviews as a way to focus on what I accomplished, ways that I've grown, and the surprising themes that emerge when I take a birds-eye look at my year. And I'd like to share this practice with you. That's what we're starting on Sunday in my Heavy Mental coaching group: a much-loved module: the ultimate "Year in Review". This 4-week private coaching module will help you spot leverage points you can exploit to do even better on your goals. You have a chance to consider the things that had real impact during your year—what do these inflection points say about your values, your talents, your unique interests and gifts that you bring to your work? This process gives me a renewed sense of purpose that sets me up to think about the goals I want to work on in the new year. You'll see that you really DID accomplish a surprising amount of growth during 2020, and you'll know what really matters—to you personally—so you set the right goals—SMART, exciting, and compassionate—for yourself in 2021. I think of it as a personal form of Kaizen—a Japanese word used to describe the system of continuous improvement used in companies and factories to gain efficiencies at every step in the production and sales process. The cycle of Kaizen in this process can be described as "Plan → Do → Check → Act". Your Year in Review serves as the "Check" on your personal progress—and prepares you for the "Act" you'll be able to do as you leap into some bodacious goals in 2021. If you haven't been a part of [Heavy Mental]( before, you can join now and get an entire month free by using promo code [REVIEW]( (after that, it's just $20 per month, or less if you sign up for whole year to follow through on those new goals.)
