Of course not. But that's what you do when you neglect to reflect on all you've accomplished during the year. [Coach.me Logo]( Coach.me Newsletter One week only: Get a free month of [Heavy Mental]( with Coach Tony Stubblebine. This month, we're doing Maximize Your Rate of Improvement with the Ultimate Year in Review. Use promo code [REVIEW]( today to be surprised at what you accomplished in 2019—and astonished at what you'll accomplish in 2020! Would you do a year's worth of work and then fail to pick up the paycheck? Of course not. Yet that's what we tend to do with our experiences. We work hard all year on improving ourselves and reaching our goals. All that experience should translate into some lessons we can learn from. But unless you consciously reflect on your year, you'll miss those important lessons. You've heard of weekly and monthly reviews—they're a standard part of popular productivity systems. But they can sometimes focus on what you have left undone. I developed this way of annual reviews as a way to focus on what I accomplished, ways that I've grown, and the surprising themes that emerge when I take a birds-eye look at my year. And I'd like to share this practice with you. That's what we're starting on Sunday in my Heavy Mental coaching group: a much-loved module called "Maximize Your Rate of Improvement with the Ultimate Year in Review". With your Year in Review, you can notice leverage points you can exploit to do even better on your goals. You have a chance to consider the things that had real impact over your year—what do they say about your values, your talents, your unique interests and gifts that you bring to your work? Knowing that gives you renewed sense of purpose that sets you up to consider big goals you can work on in the new year. You'll see that you really DID accomplish a surprising amount of growth during 2019, and you'll know what really matters—to you personally—so you set the right goals for yourself in 2020. I think of it as a personal form of Kaizen—a Japanese word used to describe the system of continuous improvement used in companies and factories to gain efficiencies at every step in the production and sales process. The cycle of Kaizen in this process can be described as "Plan → Do → Check → Act". Your Year in Review serves as the "Check" on your personal progress—and prepares you for the "Act" you'll be able to do as you leap into some bodacious goals in 2020. If you haven't been a part of [Heavy Mental]( before, you can join now and get an entire month free by using promo code [REVIEW]( (after that, it's just $20 per month.) I hope you join us; we're going to have some interesting discussions as we share and consider our personal highlights from this year. You deserve to pick up the paycheck of those experiences.
