Will the US follow suit? It’s not just the different spices or cooking methods used to make traditional dishes either. Even food from the markets and grocery stores tasted better. For a while, I couldn’t put my finger on what it was that was making the cuisine so much better. But then I realized it was how fresh and unprocessed it tasted. The European Union has already banned several additives that are still found in many foods in the US. Harmful chemicals like Red Dye No. 3 and titanium dioxide are common in foods like Skittles, other candy, cookies and more. These foods are linked to causing health issues, like different kinds of cancer, or at least cannot be ruled out as having health hazards when consumed. You can read more about [these food chemicals and the new bill]( California is proposing to ban these substances. You'll find all that, plus the latest news and reviews, in today’s newsletter. -- Macy Meyer, editor INSIDER ESSENTIALS display:%20block;%20max-width:%20116px;%20%20max-height:%2015px; display:%20block;%20max-width:%2069px;%20%20max-height:%2015px; [5 Food Additives That Are Banned in Europe but Still Used Here]( [5 Food Additives That Are Banned in Europe but Still Used Here]( [California could be the first state to ban the food chemicals.]( [See this]( [Google Pixel Watch 5 Months Later: Still the Best Design]( [Google Pixel Watch 5 Months Later: Still the Best Design]( [See this]( [ChatGPT Can Pass the Bar Exam.
