I shouldn't have to say this. [View in web browser]( [CNET logo]( Insider May 28, 2024 Use common sense with AI Overviews, please Look, I don’t tell people how to live their lives and I never comment on what people eat. But for the love of God, don’t put glue on your pizza or eat rocks, [even if Google tells you to](. Google Search’s AI-powered summaries called [AI Overviews]( are now available globally. And the internet has had a field day with it. In one search, Google recommended adding nontoxic glue to your pizza to prevent the cheese from sliding off. Another showed that 1,000 tomatoes equal one kilotomato. Small goofs like these might be funny, but they’re a telltale warning sign of how wrong AI can be -- and how we can get hurt if we’re not careful. In the meantime, I recommend practicing what my mother calls good, old-fashioned common sense.
