“Can a Black candidate win statewide in Arkansas?” My answer is yes. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ [Chris Jones for Governor]( There are a record number of Black candidates running for governor across the country this year, {NAME}. [Headshots of the various black candidates running for governor. They are Chris Jones, Deidre Dejear, Yolanda Flowers, and Stacey Abrams]( Just to name a few: there’s Stacey Abrams in Georgia, Deidre Dejear in Iowa, and Yolanda Flowers in Alabama. Similar to our movement, these candidates have all launched inspiring campaigns to ensure our government functions as a truly equitable democracy and works in the interests of all people. But many of us are going up against tough odds by running campaigns in so-called “red” states. And there’s a question that pundits across the country have been asking: “Can a Black candidate win statewide in Arkansas?” My answer is yes. {NAME}, with me being a first-time candidate with virtually zero name recognition, many said it was impossible for our campaign to get out of the primary, but we won with 70% of the vote. And now I’m the first-ever Black nominee for governor from a major party in Arkansas. Many said it was impossible for us to walk a mile with Arkansans in all 75 counties, but we did. We've been talking to Arkansans about what really matters, and it’s working — thousands across Arkansas are already heading to the polls to elect a governor who will deliver meaningful change for them and their families (that’s me, {NAME} 😏). I’m ready to work for all Arkansans, no matter what they look like, where they come from, or who they voted for. [So if you’re with me and you’re ready for new leadership in Arkansas that unites us, where opportunity is spread to every corner of the state, will you please chip in $5 or anything you can to power Team Jones to victory?]( If you've saved payment info with ActBlue Express, your donation will process automatically: [Chip in $25 >>]( [Chip in $50 >>]( [Chip in $100 >>]( [Chip in $200 >>]( [Chip in $250 >>]( [Other >>]( By showing up, talking to each other, walking a mile in each other’s shoes, and spreading the word about how we’re going to deliver for all Arkansans, we’re laying the foundation for how we’ll govern. Now I’m ready to take this movement all the way to the governor’s office and lead us into the change we so urgently need. I’ll be a governor who fights for every Arkansan, not just a select few. Sarah Huckabee Sanders is making a case that politics should be divisive and exclusive, but I’m here to put that to rest. I’m on a mission to show Arkansans that we’re all stronger when we come together and find solutions to our shared problems, {NAME}. That’s how we’ll change the direction of our state. [{NAME}, we're on the verge of making history by electing me as the first Black governor in Arkansas — but more importantly, we’re so close to creating a state where education, good-paying jobs, and a lower cost of living are possible for all of us. Where future generations of Arkansans can make even more history. Please chip in $5 or whatever you can right away to help make Team Jones’ vision a reality.]( Let’s go!
