Now’s the time for Arkansas to develop a just and equitable cannabis industry, and that’s

Now’s the time for Arkansas to develop a just and equitable cannabis industry, and that’s only possible with Chris Jones leading the charge: ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ [Chris Jones for Governor]( {NAME}, You may have heard that President Biden recently announced his decision to pardon all prior federal offenses of simple marijuana possession. This is major news, {NAME}. As President Biden put it, sending people to jail for possessing marijuana — for conduct that is legal in many states! — has upended far too many lives, and that’s before we address the clear racial disparities around prosecution and conviction. But most of these cases are at the state level, not the federal level. So this is an area where state leadership can make an even bigger difference — and Chris Jones is committed to honoring the will of Arkansans and developing a just and equitable cannabis industry as Arkansas’ next governor. That includes legalizing cannabis, expunging criminal records related to marijuana, and using the new revenue to increase education funding. [{NAME}, if you agree, please take just a few seconds to sign our petition in support of Chris’s Promise for a Just and Equitable Cannabis Industry.]( [SIGN MY NAME]( Legalizing marijuana in Arkansas is the pragmatic thing to do, {NAME}. It would encourage economic growth of a new business market, deliver funding to priorities like education and community safety, equip our law enforcement to keep us safe by focusing on serious crimes, and protect consumers — all key to helping unlock the Promise of Arkansas for everyone. It’s also extremely popular too: Arkansas voters overwhelmingly support legalizing cannabis by a 2-to-1 margin. Yet our opponent Sarah Huckabee Sanders and the statewide GOP are busy rallying against it. It’s past time we stop allowing these out-of-touch politicians to ignore us and disregard what’s best. It’s past time for us to chart a new course for our great state, one with Chris Jones as its governor. To create a more just and equitable cannabis industry in Arkansas, Chris would: - Work with lawmakers in the state legislature to ensure legalization of recreational cannabis - Allocate revenue to Arkansas’ education programs through taxes, licensing, and other fees on the cannabis industry - Enhance and expand existing training programs to increase economic revenue for Arkansas’ farmers - Equip Arkansas’ law enforcement to refocus resources to more serious crimes - Fight to prevent undue harm from coming to more Black, Brown, and low-income communities in the criminal justice system This issue represents another opportunity for our state to take the lead for the South, and it can be solved if we work together and focus on solutions for all Arkansans. That’s what Chris plans to do as governor, but he can’t do it without our continued support. [We’re aiming for as many signatures as we can get on this petition, {NAME}.
