Driver Protection Fee Starting January 1, 2020, the taxable $1 Driver Protection Fee will apply to every trip taken and will no longer be capped at 200 trips taken per calendar year. The deductible will remain unchanged and is up to $750. Further, members can still benefit from a $0 deductible once they reach their 91st trip within the calendar year (barring violation of the Terms and Conditions). Updated Mileage & Pricing for Longer Trips Starting November 12, 2019, pricing and mileage for Trip Packages 24 hours or more for a smart car will change: - Our Trip Packages of 24 hours or more in a smart car will no longer include mileage, instead we will charge you $0.29 per mile. You now only have to pay for miles you drive, and not for the miles you don't - We are adding new Trip Packages of up to 9 Days - During the introduction of this new pricing model, you will notice rental rates at the lowest end of a Trip Package's price range.
