Three Bags of Candy Per Day?! [DK Metcalf]( Image via ESPN on Instagram Featured in the March 24, 2022 episode of KG Certified, hosted by basketball Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett, on the SHOWTIME Basketball YouTube channel was Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf. In the episode, the topic of Metcalf’s [diet]( came up. According to the football player, he eats three bags of candy, drinks one coffee, and only consumes one full meal per day. Metcalf has been in the NFL since 2019. He’s played three seasons at the time of this article’s publication and posted some elite-level stats. According to NFL.com, in 49 career games, Metcalf has racked up 3,170 receiving yards via 216 receptions with 29 touchdowns. That’s an average of 4.4 receptions and 64.7 yards per game. Given that a processed, sugar-fueled diet is not what many would expect from an athlete of Metcalf’s caliber, BarBend reached out to Registered Dietitian Nutritionist & Sports Performance Dietitian Gianna Masi for a professional opinion on whether or not Metcalf is leaving potential gains on the table. Bench King Squats Big [Ray Williams Squatting 775 Pounds using a Kabuki Strength Transformer Bar]( Image: Julius Maddox Julius Maddox is arguably one of the strongest — and most popular — powerlifters. He currently holds the bench press all-time world record — [355 kilograms (782 pounds) raw]( — and has his eyes set on becoming the first man to bench press 800 pounds (362.8 kilograms) raw in a sanctioned powerlifting contest. However, Maddox is making headlines, not for his [bench press]( but his squat this time around. On April 5, 2022, he posted a video on Instagram of himself hitting a 775-pound raw squat for a single in training and then claiming to have hit an 820-pound squat using a Kabuki Strength Transformer Bar. He performed the lift without [using a lifting belt]( or [knee sleeves](. Martins Licis On Ukraine, 2022 WSM, And More [Martins Licis Interview]( Image: Martins Licis on Instagram [Martins Licis]( became a rising star within a niche when he won the 2019 Arnold Strongman Santa Monica contest. He qualified for the Arnold Strongman Classic, one of the sport’s most prestigious outings, and landed in seventh. It was an admirable showing. And then, that same year, “The Dragon” descended upon Santa Monica for the World’s Strongest Man and beat a Teflon-strong line-up — including [Brian Shaw](, [Tom and Luke Stoltman](, [Hafthor Bjornsson](, [Mateusz Kieliszkowski]( — to claim first place. The name Martin Licis became known worldwide. Then, a series of injuries, including a biking accident, sidelined Licis for a couple of years. He stayed busy filming with famous rappers like Action Bronson and starring in Geico® commercials, but his internal competitive flame never dimmed. He trained fervently in his California-based gym and eventually returned to competition in 2022. And in vintage Licis fashion, he scorched the competition.
