[man setting up for clean]( Image: Jacob Lund / Shutterstock To the untrained eye, a bag of golf clubs may look like little more than a collection of shiny sticks. The same principle holds true for strength athletes and their relationship with the barbell. Do you know why? The barbell is the universal training implement. Much like how a golfer will seek a certain club for a certain shot, there’s more than one type of barbell out there — and far [more ways to utilize them than you might think.](    mailto:?subject=%F0%9F%8F%8B%EF%B8%8F%20Yamagishi%20retires%20from%20bodybuilding&body=%0A%0AWant%20more%20great%20content%3F%20Subscribe%20to%20BarBend%27s%20newsletter%20for%20all%20the%20latest%20news%20from%20fitness%20community.%20__s=s54a3u1vmp5xzj41089k --------------------------------------------------------------- EVERYTHING ELSE What's New?
