The message below from one of our partners is one we think you should take a close look at. Dear Reader, Moroccan football is living its zenith. The Atlas Lions recently became the first African team to reach the FIFA World Cup™ semi-finals, the CAF Champions League trophy currently lives in Casablanca, and Morocco is set to host the FIFA Club World Cup™ for the third time. Wydad will represent the hosts at the latter tournament following a stunning reemergence. The Red Castle ended a 25-year wait to become African champions for the second time in 2017, and have reached the CAF Champions League final on a further two occasions, winning it last May under Walid Regragui, the mastermind of Morocco’s Qatar 2022 heroics. Noureddine Naybet began his legendary career at Wydad in 1989, helping them conquer Africa three years later. He went on to help Deportivo La Coruna win the only La Liga title in 1999/2000 alongside the likes of Lionel Scaloni, Mauro Silva, Djalminha and Roy Makaay, play in two World Cups and win a Morocco record 115 caps. After acting as an assistant at the Club World Cup draw on Friday, Naybet shared his expectations for the tournament with FIFA+. Noureddine Naybet: Thank God. I’d say it was a legendary campaign for Morocco in Qatar. We rose up to the challenge and went all the way to the semi-finals. This was the result of continuous hard work, and it’s something for Moroccans, and for all Africans and Arabs, to be proud of. This is all a continuation of a process, Wydad’s return to compete at the very top of African club football and the national team impressing at the FIFA World Cup. This all creates an added motivation for everyone involved, and as a result we see that it’s not only Wydad fans who are buzzing, but all Moroccan football fans. I hope this reflects positively and is turned into even more success in upcoming tournaments. I just hope all the teams – especially Wydad and the other two Arab clubs – do well in this competition and we get to enjoy some beautiful football. I’m happy to see these Arab teams compete at the FIFA Club World Cup. Al Hilal and Al Ahly are both huge teams with a massive history. As Moroccans, we have a lot of respect for those teams. I hope they can all bring their A game at this competition and show the true quality of Arab football. Yes, it’s true that in recent years there has been a European monopoly on the title. This is the third time the FIFA Club World Cup is played in Morocco, so I hope this time we can have a Moroccan or an Arab team in the final at least. Wydad will have the fans on their side, so that will have an impact, but of course Real Madrid are a huge team. They are a team that has a lot of fans everywhere in the world, including here in Morocco, so they are the team to beat and I personally have a lot of respect for them. xmxkte6hAsZI02QeC0fFG6ZYsY7Jf3FymL4dK4I0GRPYSSHxUohY0jwkv4leABDN7r z3GYhd2FbZS1pEyVOEfvHpQbA3T8mCPxgi1x8Ok7HGCrjivhOXyo60vR13HcWn1xpV ZJsC8bg1GutSlRpVAvMhgMXqsd65cqe1xpby6W3Uccw8tkEuJCH2TimdjQFtLW1XBl vvGwBJooSLTN1VytLZycYybFdUn3Dxp3SbsGhyufsWN4WEUUCikSfeUe9UDnVyEqKr FPbq0RoGeDqoK6u4rl4WbiDWyk0IjWuWLaQMeXd7nK5hSpssZiUz3ca7ljhkCSkaEG 9el6Ca7dxsyPaynDqYGuMEEYQdsQlUWbSDFyLaGEEqan1BFoGN3FCIOfvP23E0S2AB KtK2NVbG4GfkYfAPVZorxrjAzKPadp6O55KZh4KIe7ZWcfxvHP2ec7AGn9rqhBOeVU cCM2XCYQvEM24bciz6bJz8X75FO2fOcn4TBkss1wtIGow0xbpi5A7WFfYE3g6p4zJg kQi47TILqgcvXXYAmGiz0LFX04Nx6BwNmQNr3GY9nBfZHqcQWEy8EP8daunStY6msX DVy2Yi1KVuFYjyYvb1ysgNJqtdxQrr4LEEIB8SM7e4cvzg567mm6pTuwb9uWGows9W [graphic chart]( Millionaire investor Brad Thomas has discovered 500 of the fastest–growing companies in America in terms of revenue growth over the last 3 years, with growth starting at 212% and going all the way up to 87,037%. The pitch, which is on show in Adelaide/Tarntanya until 18 January, represents a patchwork f the tournament brand colours, reflecting the two unique local cultures of Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand and the coming together of 32 participating nations. Adelaide/Tarntanya is set to host five games of this year’s Tournament, four in the group stage and one round of 16 clash, all at Hindmarsh Stadium. Brazil will feature in the opening clash – their opponent won’t be known until next month’s Play-Off Tournament has taken place, China will take on reigning European Champions England, Korea Republic against Women’s World Cup debutants Morocco and a second Play Off-winning team will face China for their second group-stage match in Adelaide. “We are all in for an amazing festival of football here in Adelaide – and pleasingly, the Chinese national team has selected Adelaide to be their home away from home. So, they will be based here in Adelaide for the duration of the Tournament”, said FIFA Women’s World Cup COO for Australia, Jane Fernandez. “This is something that’s going to be incredibly profound, for both Australia and New Zealand to be hosting the most elite female football players in the world,” said South Australian Minister for Tourism Zoe Bettison. “In July, two billion people will be watching the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand – this is an exceptional opportunity, not just for our country, but for our State as well,” she explained. Adelaide United players Jenna McCormick, Dylan Holmes, Emilia Murray and Xiao Yuyi were invited on to the pitch to participate in a blind football demonstration organised by Blind Football SA along with Football South Australia. Through this wonderful exhibition, FIFA reconfirmed its commitment to be a safe, inclusive barrier-free tournament that offers the same experience to everyone, no matter their ability… and is offering a range of Accessible ticketing options for fans. Fernandez was also able to share an exciting update on ticket sales generally, pitch-side in Adelaide. “Momentum is building… we’ve just ticked over 500,000 tickets sold and more tickets will be released in the coming months,” she said. Both Fernandez and Head of Women’s Football, Women’s World Cup Legacy & Inclusion at Football Australia Sarah Walsh, reiterated their thanks to the local Government for their incredible support of the tournament to date. “Through support of the (South Australian) State Government… there’s been significant commitment towards the Legacy ’23 plan… with funds set to grow participation in football, develop women’s leadership and support over 300 local Clubs,” Walsh explained.
