[Visit our website]( [AvaTrade] Still Caring After All These Years FED Interest Rate – Wednesday September 18th at 18:00 GMT In 2008, it seemed as if central banks were cooperating to stave off a post-meltdown apocalypse. Now, it’s more of a choreographed race to see who’ll go lowest, the quickest. Trump has forced the FED to go against a well-performing economy and lower interest rates. His trade war is reddening the data across the economic calendar, so that the FED has no choice but to lower rates even further in fear of a recession. And the rest of the world is forced into a maelstrom of lowered rates, hampered trade and political ill-will at every corner. Unlike a decade ago, when interest rate cuts, bond buying and other measures were focused on rekindling a staggering global economy, now it seems as though rates are becoming a political tool, as the US drops, then China in retaliation, then Europe and the rest of Asia struggling to keep up. Meanwhile, the data keeps sinking, sentiment markers keep shrinking, and the word “recession” is being bandied about more and more, googled more frequently, and dismissed at an alarming frequency by FED officials everywhere. Leaving us – as the consensus for a rate hike rises above the 90% mark – to ask: Is the Dollar still taking its cue from its maker?
