We can unlock $30,000 for birds with your help. [Unlock $30,000; Protect Threatened Birds; 75 Donors Needed]( We’ve been able to have back-to-back record-breaking nesting seasons in the Great Lakes region for the Piping Plover—all thanks to support from generous bird lovers like you. But they’re only one of 389 birds on the brink—birds who are at increasing risk of extinction because of our warming planet. If we want to keep supporting these birds no matter what they face, we need you with us. [Give Monthly]( [Will you be one of the 75 new monthly donors we need before midnight to help unlock an additional $30,000 for birds? Piping Plovers, Golden-cheeked Warblers, Western Yellow-billed Cuckoos and all birds are counting on us!]( [National Audubon Society]( [Help Bring Birds Back From The Brink; Piping Plover.]( Piping Plover. [Your support protects birds like the Piping Plover.]( [Your support protects birds like the Piping Plover.]( It’s nothing short of a crisis: With 3 degrees of warming, the Piping Plover is at risk of losing 87 percent of its range. Decades of habitat loss, degradation, and human impact have precipitated a worrying decline of Piping Plovers across the entirety of its range. But it’s not just Piping Plovers who are on the brink of extinction. Other species like Golden-cheeked Warblers and Western Yellow-billed Cuckoos, are currently threatened or endangered. The bird extinction crisis we’re facing now could become much worse in the future. Our research identified nearly 400 North American species at increasing risk of extinction from climate change! To protect them we need dedicated bird champions with us.[Can we count on you to be one of the 75 new monthly donors we need before midnight? Thanks to a group of generous donors, your gift will help unlock $30,000 in additional resources to help birds in need.]( [Don't let birds disappear; Bird Illistrations. ]( All birds on the brink are facing delicate and tenuous situations, but thanks to caring people like you, we advocate and work on their behalf. We’re working across the Piping Plovers range to ensure these birds are protected and could one day no longer be endangered or threatened. Through research, education, monitoring, and protecting their nests, we helped accomplish a record-breaking breeding season last year. And 2023 looks to be even stronger. A new survey of the Piping Plover’s nesting region shows that 80 breeding pairs produced as many as 135 chicks across the Great Lakes this season. Birds need you now [Bird Icon.]( Nearly 400 North American bird species are at increasing risk of climate extinction. [Bird Icon.]( The Piping Plover is endangered in 13 states and nearly gone from the Great Lakes. [Bird Icon.]( With 3 degrees of warming, the Piping Plover is at risk of losing 87% of its range. But, Piping Plovers—and all birds on the brink—aren’t out of the woods yet. They need all of us with them for the best chance of survival. [That’s why we extended our Giving Tuesday Challenge!
