Itâs go time. Just hours remain until the end of our fiscal year at midnight tonightâand the end of an offer that lets you give birds 2X the protection: [When you begin a monthly gift, your first three donations get matched. So don't miss this chance to double your impact. Start your support right away.](
So much is at stake at this moment. The administration is plunging ahead to gut the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. And as the MBTA goes, so go our birds: If they weaken it as theyâve planned, they weaken birdsâ chance to survive.
Iâm asking you to back our fight to uphold this key bird conservation law. When you give monthly, youâre with us every day in all we do, in times of crisis like this and through each big win we achieve. Your support is your investment in a better futureâone where birds and people inhabit a healthy natural world, and where future generations inherit a planet where we can all thrive.
Time is slipping away for this special match. But more to the point, itâs running out on our chance to give birds our best defense. [Please help right away, before midnight, with your monthly gift. Your first three months will count double, giving you double the impact.](
Thank you for all you do for birds, and thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Steven Abrahamson

Time is running out. With the administration rushing to undercut our best bird law, every moment matters in the fight to save it. Right now is the moment to defend the Migratory Bird Treaty Actâbecause when we do, we protect all the species it shields.
[For just a few more hoursâuntil our fiscal year ends at midnight tonightâyour monthly gift will be matched, dollar for dollar, for your first three months.]( As we look to the work ahead, we ask you to lend us your strength so that we can stay in the fight for as long as it takes to win.
With a century-long record of successfully protecting birds, the Migratory Bird Treaty Act is a cornerstone of bird conservation. As written, it holds companies accountable for the avian deaths they cause: When BPâs Deepwater Horizon disaster killed a million-plus birds, the MBTA imposed record fines that are funding restoration.
But the administration wonât apply the law as written. In fact, theyâve twisted it to let companies off the hook: Oil and gas interests no longer pay when they kill birds.
Whatâs worse, the administration has just taken a big step forward toward turning their interpretation into permanent law. This rule could take years or even decades to undoâand our most vulnerable birds canât afford to wait that long.
Weâre fighting on every front to restore the MBTA to full force, from the courts to Congress. For the sake of the birds we love, we wonât give up. But to mount our most powerful defense, we need you.
This is your very best chance to helpâand your last chance before our fiscal year ends along with this match opportunity. [Commit to this fight today with your most generous monthly giftâwhich will be matched dollar for dollar, but just until midnight tonight. Donât miss this chance to be the strength that will see birds through. Please help all you can before time runs out.](
Sincerely,
The National Audubon Society
