So much has happened in the past 9 years. I married my soulmate Phil. We had our two cheeky little children, Ben and Fern. Alongside my family, my online School’s been growing too. I started it in 2014, with 300 members (many of whom are still members today). Our vibrant community now has over 6,000 artists all over the world, supporting one another to create. 🧑‍🤝‍🧑🧑‍🤝‍🧑🧑‍🤝‍🧑 But in the past few years, the name just hasn’t felt right. It was the fact that over a quarter of members have been with us for more than 4 years. They were telling us that, though they join because they want to learn, once they’ve developed their skills and reach creative independence, they stay because they love being part of the community and their membership helps them to create more regularly. We’ve grown into so much more than a school. School is a place you’re made to go to, and then you leave once you’ve done your learning. (And if you had a negative experience of school, you probably couldn’t wait to get out of there). 🦇🔥 Instead I wanted a name that spoke to what we’re about as a community AND what I am about as an artist. After all, my classes have been at the centre of the learning experience, and I have no plans to go anywhere. A name which reflects that we’re a community united around two things: a love of making art, and a love of nature. And that we’re a welcoming peaceful space to retreat and create in. And what I’ve chosen sums us up: Our new name is… Nature Studio. ✨ And rather than calling it a school, I’ll now refer to it as a ‘membership’. A new name means a new website AND a new web address, so from now on we’ll live at NatureStudio.com 🍃 We’ve had a makeover too. Come and [have a look around...]( Important - Action needed!! When I think back to how this all started, and the long hours I spent sat at the dinner table trying to teach myself how to paint, it feels so surreal.
