My time as a multi-level marketer was full of disappointments. I was seventeen at the time. And, you see, you need to be good with people if you want to be successful at MLM. In my head, I always felt "not cool enough" to approach people who knew nothing about me. I also wasn’t the best-looking guy on campus. I didn’t even know how to look presentable and socialize well with my peers. In short, I lacked the connections, confidence, and authority to close sales. The more I worried about these weaknesses, the worse I performed, which led to more worrying. At the end of the day, I was an immature college guy who was selling dreams of huge earnings — something that I couldn’t even do myself. It became a vicious cycle I couldn’t get out of — until I decided to quit MLM altogether. On the bright side, my MLM experience taught me a lot of lessons that carried over to my blogging career. You hear a lot of promising stuff about MLM. If you ever get invited to an MLM business, you should know how it always goes. "You can earn passive income" "You’ll earn BIG money just by pulling people in" "Share this photo with this money in your hand — you’ll sell a lot more!" I’m not saying these things are totally bogus in MLM. What I can be sure of, however, is that they’re definitely real in the blogging industry. I’m about to show you how I transformed from your average "shy guy" into the confident, public-speaking, blogging "guru" that my followers see me as. (Trust me — I still have growth to do, like you. But I like how blogging guru sounds. :P ) Imagine asking your crush on a date. You want to sell the idea of you being his or her partner, right? The catch is, your crush knows nothing about you since you never really talked. Looking at your crush from across the room, you begin to consider your options. - "Maybe I should start with a joke?" - "How about a written note first, then talk later?" - "I’ll just talk to his/her friends and ask them to introduce us." Your hands begin to sweat and anxiety starts to set in. The main problem with asking your crush out on a date is uncertainty. You don’t know what will work. You’re also afraid that you might do something stupid and embarrass yourself in front of people. It’s the MLM thing all over again. Newbie bloggers also face similar uncertainties. What topics are my readers interested in? What if they hate the way my website looks? As a blogger, you also need to sell things — from affiliate products to your own digital products. But, just like being a shy student with a secret crush, your target doesn’t even know you. In turn, you don’t know how to make the first move. Naturally, I dealt with the same uncertainties when I was starting out. In turn, I responded by doing heaps of nose-deep research on how to sell affiliate products, do keyword research, execute content promotions, run SEO campaigns, and more. In the end, I still didn’t know if those strategies will work or not. That’s when it hit me. We’re already surrounded by big-name bloggers who figured it all out. Clearly, they are doing something different from countless other bloggers in their niche. This is where Authority-Based Blogging tunnel steps in. It’s so mind-numbingly simple, I can’t believe I spent several months putting my chips on untested and unproven strategies. You may even think it’s a controversial get-rich-quick scheme, but it’s really not. I’m pretty sure you’ll have a similar "a-ha" moment — once you hear all about it tomorrow. Just one more thing. Here’s another thing I learned about MLM: It’s always "Do as I do." If your upline really cared about you, they’ll show you the ropes by doling out a step-by-step action plan. More importantly, they’ll tell you to learn from their examples — sometimes by showing you how to actually do stuff. See where I’m going here? You probably do, you’re smart for being subscribed to my list, after all. ;-) Talk to you tomorrow, Ankit P.S. Excited for the big reveal? Patience, people — I promise I won’t leave you hanging. For now, I’m very interested in HOW can I serve you better. My question for you is, what is the ONE thing you would like me to help you with?
