I almost gave up. Does marketing ever make you feel icky, {NAME}? Ummmm yeah. Me too. You might not know this about me… But before I started the Copy Posse, I almost gave up on copywriting completely. Yup. I was ready to throw in the towel after 10 years of working behind the scenes in the industry, walk away from all my clients and say goodbye to the $300K+ a year I was making… Because I was jaded AF. I was sick of the douchey marketing I was seeing online every damn day… And even more sick of the bad rap copywriters were getting because of said douchiness. I’ll never forget what happened at a party I attended years ago… Some guy asked me what I did for a living, and when I told him I was a copywriter, he replied… "Oh, you’re one of those people who fill my inbox with spam…" 😲😲😲 I remember being offended and embarrassed. Because, while what I was doing for my clients was definitely NOT spam… There was no denying the industry was filled with people who WERE putting out this type of garbage and calling it "marketing." So I couldn’t really blame this guy for saying that… And I didn’t want to be associated with it anymore. My student, Shelley, perfectly summed up how I was feeling all those years ago… I don’t know about you, {NAME}... But I got into this industry because I wanted to do good. And that’s why I created the Copy Posse… To redefine modern marketing… Build an empathy empire… And start a NEW school of copywriters who deeply care about making a difference and using their words to create a ripple effect of positivity across the Internet. So, if you’ve been feeling "icky" about the marketing industry lately… If you’ve been trying to learn copywriting, but you’re left disappointed and underwhelmed time and time again… Then maybe it’s time to shut out the noise and come HOME. I hope the Posse can be that place for you too, {NAME}... Whatever your goals are for 2024… I’m rooting for you, always. Alex 🫶 P.S.
