10 formatting tips to add more personality and fun to your copywriting. {NAME} – want to know [who I dislike]( more than anyone else on the internet? Well, okay, it’s not just one person… It’s a whole damn personality trait… I like to call these people the "grammar gremlins"... Unlike your run-of-the-mill grammar police, these people are NOT well-intentioned when they point out a mistake… Grammar police are usually kind and respectful enough to send you a private message when they notice a mistake… Like when I got this very helpful message from a friend on Saturday… 🤭🤣 Well, that’s embarrassing. "Grammar gremlins" on the other hand… Would much rather give themselves a false sense of superiority by ruthlessly calling out strangers on the internet… Like this gem of a grem 👇 Honestly – I laugh when people like this come after me about my grammar, punctuation or "choice of words" lol. Listen, people! I’m a copywriter… A conversationalist… A storyteller… I’m NOT a literary perfectionist. And frankly – if I (or you) wrote in a technically perfect and grammatically flawless way… No one would read it. That shit would be boring as hell (oh yeah, I swear sometimes too – deal with it 🤣). That type of writing isn’t what the modern-day, internet-age, doom-scrolling browser wants to read. They want to be entertained, educated or inspired… They want to relate to your messaging. And sometimes, things need to be written in a certain way to be approachable and relatable. It’s okay to emphasize a word or statement with well-placed bolding… It’s okay to use "…" to help make a smoother transition (which is called a coherence marker btw. Learn about them [here](. It’s okay to use the occasional uppercase text and misplaced dash… It’s okay to make up fun words if they are on brand.
