You’re also betraying yourself kasi you promised to do it pero hindi mo naman ifu-fulfill. “Magda-diet na talaga ako bukas…” “Magwo-workout na talaga ako…” “Bukas, magko-connect na talaga ako consistently…” “Tututukan ko na talaga tomorrow ang pag-upskill ko…” Pero ginawa mo ba? Ginagawa mo ba? Now, think of something you’ve been telling yourself you’re gonna do pero you kept stalling to this day. It could be the same as the above examples or something else. Pansin mo ba every time you tell yourself na gagawin mo pero hindi naman nangyayari, parang over time, nawawalan na ng weight ‘yung task? Hindi mo na siya sineseryoso to the point na wala na lang sa’yo if magawa mo or hindi. ‘Tapos in the process, you’re betraying yourself. When you repeatedly delay taking action, it becomes harder to believe in your ability to follow through on your intentions. As a result, nagkakaroon ka na ng doubt sa sarili mo if you can fulfill even bigger tasks. Now, you have a bigger issue: You’re starting to lack self-esteem or confidence. “‘Yung simple tasks nga hindi ko magawa, ‘yun pa kayang mga need ng more commitment ang magawa ko.” “Baka hindi ko kaya.” “Baka hindi ako qualified for the role.” Familiar? Take some time to reflect and look closely at what you’re procrastinating on and why you think that’s the case… Make yourself aware of it. Then, day after day, train yourself to set a small task to fulfill and actually make it happen day after day. Notice how rewarding it is to prove yourself that you can do what you promised yourself to do. Then, proceed to setting to finish more important tasks and commit to doing them.
