Hi {NAME}! Back to reality na ba with all the work you have to do? Did you make the time to reflect

Hi {NAME}! Back to reality na ba with all the work you have to do? Did you make the time to reflect on the questions I asked yesterday? I hope you did, and have started to work on improving your approach to achieving your goals this year. If you haven’t, you can [read my last email here](. Now, you can always restart and pursue new goals even if it’s not the first day of January. Every day is another chance to be better. :) Speaking of which, most of the freelancing stories I’ve heard of has a common theme: To have the financial capacity and time freedom to do whatever they want, whenever. Ikaw rin ba, {NAME}? I bet you do. Kahit naman ako, I left the corporate world to pursue freelance copywriting… Kasi dito ko mas nakita ‘yung opportunity to earn higher while having the time to spend with my loved ones. And it opened new doors for me not just to help other businesses, but also to create my own. Who would have thought that an Engineering graduate would ditch his license to become a copywriter? HAHA! I have no regrets in making such decision because through copywriting, I was able to buy a house and a lot… I get to do spontaneous vacation trips with my wife… The best part? I don’t have to file for vacation or emergency leaves because I am my own boss. Maybe, this is also the reason that got you here… So if there’s anything good we could get from the pandemic… It’s that it opened our eyes to the possibility of remote work. Kaya naman pala mag-produce ng same, if not better, results while working from the comfort of our homes. You’ll save money from commuting every day and from buying new work clothes every time… But more importantly, you’ll stop wasting time stuck in traffic, and be able to use it instead in increasing your skills or spending quality time with loved ones. So I get why more people are leaning towards embracing the freelancing lifestyle. If you’re already a freelancer, great. However, and this also applies to those who are about to venture into freelancing, you should… Build your freelancing business to serve your dream lifestyle, and not the other way around. I understand if in the beginning, you’d have to take in as much work as you can because you need the money. But over time, you have to reassess your situation. That’s why I asked you those questions yesterday. What made you pursue or want to pursue freelancing again? Is it the income potential? But is it all you wanted? If you also want to have the freedom to travel and work anytime you want, at home or by the beach… Is your current lifestyle or workload supporting that goal? If not, better make time to recalibrate your goals and decisions. Baka kasi what’s preventing you from reaching your goals is not because you don’t have the skills… But because you want to do so much with the little time you have available to you. Sakit ko rin ‘to, actually. 😅 Maraming gustong gawin pero limited lang ‘yung time and energy… If you have the (financial) capacity to delegate, good for you. Pero for those na nagsisimula pa lang… What I suggest is for you to rank your goals alongside the things you want to do. Do those things na aligned sa highest ranking goal mo until you achieve it. Focus on doing them first kahit na gustong gusto mo nang gawin ‘yung iba pa. Then once done, reassess mo ulit ‘yung goals mo. Are they still in line with the future you want and with the goal you just reached? Walang right and wrong answer dito because only you can decide. It’s not giving up on your other pursuits naman… Normal lang maging passionate about a lot of things. What you’re doing here is more of just streamlining the process and minimizing the “noise” around you. Also, I don’t want you to be discouraged by the fact that some people still excel doing multiple things at once. If you’re not one of them, that’s fine. Instead of getting frustrated trying to keep up, accomplish things at your own pace. Hindi naman ito race, {NAME}. What’s important is that you have a certain goal you want to achieve… You have a clear plan to make it happen… And you take action until you accomplish it. S’yempre, this doesn’t happen in an instant. I will never get tired of reiterating that you have to put in hard work and determination if you want to be successful in whatever field you’re in. And with this new year, I hope you also have a renewed spirit and will to make your dreams your reality. :) Just have faith and take inspired action. You can do it, {NAME}. :) Rooting for you, Mark Darwin Balaswit Sent to: {EMAIL} [Unsubscribe]( Top Dog Copywriter, Barangay Commonwealth, 1121 Quezon City, Philippines
