Hi {NAME}! I know Christmas is fast approaching… But I also realized that while some of us have the privilege to take this time off to spend the holidays with loved ones… There are also those who are still struggling to find clients before the year ends and those who are still working on their deliverables. If you’re one of these, let this be your reminder to take a break. Breathe, {NAME}. Especially kung nabablangko ka na because you still have a lot on your plate pero may hinahabol kang deadlines — All the more reason for you to stand and stay away from your laptop or PC for a while. Why? Taking a much needed break is just as important as doing client work. You need to have a fresh perspective on the thing you’re working on… Lalo na kung no matter how hard you try na pigain ang utak mo, wala pa rin lumalabas na ideas. And you can’t do this kung hindi ka magpo-pause para huminga saglit. It could be as simple as taking a walk or just have a change of scenery or environment. What’s important here is for you to find a way to calm your nerves and recharge. Then, saka ka bumalik sa ginagawa mo with refreshed eyes and mind. For sure, pati ‘yung self-confidence mo ma-affect din and would lead you to questioning if you’re cut out to be a copywriter… All you need is to take a short break pero sine-set aside natin ‘to madalas kasi we don’t feel like we deserve it… kasi hindi pa tapos ‘yung client work. But you deserve to rest, {NAME}. You owe it to yourself and to your clients na rin. Only when you’re in your best shape can you produce the best output for your clients. And kasama sa process ang magpahinga. That’s why don’t feel guilty about taking a few minutes of break every 30 minutes of work done, for example. Mag-stretch ka na rin para mag-circulate naman nang maayos ‘yung blood mo lalo kung nakaupo ka lang sa harap ng laptop or PC the whole day. HAHA! Pero ‘wag naman aabot ng oras ‘yung break unless you can afford it. I just wanted to give this reminder since nasa hustle era tayo and nano-normalize nang mag-work nonstop… Which for me is not sustainable. Kasi even if your brain is powerful, napapagod din ‘yan at kailangan magpahinga… Much like a robot that’s overused and starting to lag and overheat. Madalas, ang need lang naman is ipahinga ‘yung machine bago ulit magamit in its full capacity. If machines need some resting time, what makes you think humans don’t? :) Hope you take away something from this email, {NAME}.
