here's what's happening this month ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  Hello again {NAME}, and welcome to this month’s edition of our SEO roundup. Let’s dive into the most important updates March has brought us so far. Farewell to the Google My Business App Below is a screenshot of the email Google is sending out to current users of the Google My Business app: Google [announced]( that it would be getting rid of the app when it relaunched Google My Business as Google Business Profile. In their email Google states that you should "start using Google Maps and Search to keep your Business Profile up to date and connect with customers." Are you going to miss the Google My Business app? Time to Steer Clear of AI? Google Search Advocate John Mueller recently stated that content generated automatically using AI writing tools is against Google’s Webmaster Guidelines. This information came out during a recent Google Search Central SEO office-hours hangout where Mueller says that automatically generated content is considered spam. John continues to say that content written by AI falls under the category of auto-generated content, which could lead to a manual penalty. The big question that comes up is whether Google is actually able to detect AI generated content. As for that answer, here is what Mueller had to say: “I can’t claim that. But for us, if we see that something is automatically generated, then the webspam team can definitely take action on that. And I don’t know how the future will evolve there, but I imagine like with any other of these technologies, there will be a little bit of a cat and mouse game, where sometimes people will do something and they get away with it, and then the webspam team catches up and solves that issue on a broader scale.” To hear his full response you can catch a replay of his SEO office hour here: [( New Product Performance Tab in Google Business Profile A new product performance tab has been spotted in the Google Business profile dashboard. You can see a screenshot of what it looks like here: This new tab shows you information such as how many people viewed your products, your top products, and how your products performed [amongst other things.]( New Google Ads dashboard Google has announced that advertisers can now use dashboards at the manager account level. The dashboard is broken down into Top Level summary, Conversions over time, Top search terms, Campaign Performance Report, Search Auction Insights and Top Locations. Below is a preview of what the dashboard looks like: Google has also announced 5 additional improvements to dashboards. From the dashboard you can now do the following: - Change date ranges and filters for the entire dashboard - Add interactive table cards, rich formatting features, and conditional formatting - Download higher-quality reports more quickly - Resize cards and layouts dynamically based on window size - Create a dashboard card by copying over existing saved reports Read Google’s full announcement here: [( And that wraps up our SEO finds for this month.
