...the winds of change are blowing in the world of SEO ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  Hi {NAME}, Much like the weather outside, the winds of change are blowing in the world of SEO. Let’s dive into the newest happenings and most important updates we’ve seen over the past month. Google My Business is now Google Business Profile Google has officially changed the name of Google My Business to [Google Business Profile](. With this name change, Google is now encouraging users with one listing to manage their listing directly in Google Search or Google Maps. Instead of using the Google business profile manager, you would search for your business and edit your listing directly in the search results. Google plans to kill off the Google My Business mobile app to further encourage users to edit their listing directly in the search results. Ahrefs offers new "traffic potential" metric Ahrefs is a top tool used by many SEOs and they are always looking for ways to improve their software. The release of their [newest metric]( is a great addition for SEOs to pull data from. Traffic potential comes from the fact that pages don’t rank for just a single keyword, they also get search traffic from variations of that keyword. In Ahrefs’ own words, "Traffic potential shows the sum of organic traffic that the #1 ranking page for your target keyword receives from all the keywords that it ranks for." They also added a "Parent topic" feature to check whether the keyword is a long-tail variation of a broader topic. John Mueller confirms that bolded text can help your SEO During the Google Search Central SEO office hours on November 12, 2021, John Mueller touched on whether bolded text can help your SEO. Mueller states: "So usually we do try to understand what the content is about on a web page, and we look at different things to try to figure out what is actually being emphasized here, and that includes things like headings on a page. But it also includes things like what is actually bolded or emphasized within the text on the page. So to some extent that does have a little bit of extra value there, in that it’s a clear sign that actually you think this page or this paragraph is about this topic here. And usually, that aligns with what we think the page is about anyway, so it doesn’t change that much." He goes on to give the following definitive statement: "So if you want to kind of like simplify it to one-word answer, does bolding important points on a paragraph help the SEO, yes it does. It does help us to better understand that paragraph or that page." You can watch the full video with his answer here: [ And that wraps up our SEO finds for this month. What did you think?
