Today is another tragic remembrance. Six years ago, a gunman killed 49 people at the Pulse nightclub

[Zimmerman For Congress logo]( Today is another tragic remembrance. Six years ago, a gunman killed 49 people at the Pulse nightclub, a LGBTQ+ nightclub, in Orlando, FL. A month of celebration, joy, and love shattered by gun violence. Since that day – with many horrific mass shootings in between – nothing has changed. We need only to look to the most recent tragedy in Uvalde and feel the frustration and anger at our government's failure to stop gun violence. As a country, we move from tragedy to tragedy, with elected officials offering thoughts and prayers but little else. When will it be too much to bear? What level of violence do we have to reach for us to FINALLY do something? The House just voted to pass the Protecting Our Kids Act, which would raise the minimum age to purchase an assault rifle to 21 – but it faces an uphill battle in the Senate. This is a small but necessary measure – but we need to be doing so much more. I need New Yorkers like yourself, {NAME}, to join me by [clicking here and signing up to call on the Senate to take the action needed to protect innocent lives.]( [ADD YOUR NAME]( Many of these mass shootings are driven not just by access to weapons of war, but fueled by hate and bigotry. Just look at the shootings in Buffalo, Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, Pulse, and so many more. We need to stand up to hate in all its forms, and work towards a safer, more tolerant society. This gun violence epidemic has to stop and the Senate has the power to make a difference. Please join me in urging them to do the right thing. [Click here and join me today.]( Thank you, Robert Zimmerman Robert Zimmerman is a Democratic leader and small business owner running for Congress in New York’s 3rd District to stand up for those who are too often unseen and unheard by those in power.
