Also: 7 sexual practices that need to be banned [View Web Version]( [Zikoko Daily] 8th November, 2021 Hey there. When Wilson told me I’d be writing today’s newsletter, I was excited because as I don’t have money in real life, it won’t hurt to talk about other people’s money. Today’s Naira life is full of ups and downs. Imagine going from making at least ₦100k every week to losing millions and having to depend on your little sister for your daily ₦1k. This guy has seen it all. Here’s my chat with Toheeb about his story: 👇🏾. David Editor The Inside Gist --------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Toheeb. What was the highlight of your weekend? I hung out with my folks from work on Saturday, and we did a 400-meter canopy walk together. Hanging out was fun. The canopy walk, not so much. 0/10 – would not recommend. You need to start going to the gym. Tell me, how do you usually find your Naira Life subjects? Sometimes I talk to people I know, and they either agree to do a story or send someone else my way. I’ve pitched the series to complete strangers and convinced them to agree to an interview. Sometimes, people reach out to me. So yeah, there’s no single way to find the people I need to talk to. This guy seems like a generally optimistic person. I imagine he is, but I think his honesty and grit are his most important qualities. When he has a problem, he takes stocks and finds solutions, even when the problem is himself. What was the most shocking part of his story for you? He left ₦2m worth of goods at his friend's store because they fell out. I thought it was interesting that he walked away from his money. Me too. Tell me something about him that’s not in the story. He believes his friend could start saving for a store early on because he didn’t have to worry about family responsibilities. That’s interesting. Oya, when are we going to read your own Naira Life? Whenever you agree to interview me. 💀 Ah, nice. Let me check my calendar so we can schedule an interview. Looking forward to it.
