[Geek]( [MovieBob Review: THE PREDATOR (2018)]( Yeah, and I was looking forward to this one, too. Whatever else you can say about him, Black (who actually appeared in the original Predator as “Hawkins” back in 1987) is a heck of a talent. It feels like he may have bitten off more than he could chew, and that the production got away from him. The Predator has all the hallmarks of an ambitious, stuffed-to-the-gills “big idea” reboot that spooked the studio (Fox, in this case), and got chopped down to a 95 minute bare-bones September dump. It’s still hard to imagine that there was much movie to begin with even when Black had control of it, though.
