Profit from the Pros Trump Handcuffed = Market Correction? Kevin Cook here for Reity... After yesterday's big 1.8% market drubbing, a big debate is raging here at Zacks. It's me against everyone else who calls this market the Trump Rally and now believes that it is "game over" since the political wolves are after him. In short, they believe that the Trump-genda is seriously at risk and therefore the market, and its not-so-humble valuation, are due for a serious correction. But I've never believed this rally was primarily about the White House. Nothing DC did created monster earnings growth in Technology that drove the Nasdaq up 18%. Regs and Taxes Still, there's a lot to be said for the potential loss of 2 agenda items: repealing Dodd-Frank financial regulation and corporate tax cuts. I had thought both of these were important, but not crucial this year. And they were already getting pushed into "next year... maybe " status. But bank stocks fell hard today on fears of "never." Until I decipher these competing market catalysts, let's hear from one group of investors who have many ears to the ground in the Finance sector. Tracy Ryniec follows their moves weekly and she's got the "inside" scoop...
