It was a back-and-forth session for all of the indexes yesterday, as they bounced between positive and negative numerous times throughout the day. Follow-through buying after Friday's better than expected Employment report lifted stocks early. But then the volatility set in. Earnings season continues. We had another 59 stocks report earnings yesterday. And there were plenty of big-name beats. But it wasn't enough to stay on the plus side. But we've got another 222 companies on deck for today, and in total, another 896 between today and Friday. As for economic reports, we'll get the NFIB Small Business Optimism Index, International Trade in Goods and Services, and the Redbook retail sales report today. In spite of the rough start this year, be sure to keep your eyes on the big picture. With robust projections for the economy and corporate earnings, it looks like there's a lot more upside to go for the market. So make sure you're taking full advantage of it.
