Retail Sales rose 1.7% m/m, easily beating last month's upwardly revised 0.8% and views for 1.0%. Ex-Vehicles it was also up 1.7% vs. views for 0.9%. And Ex-Vehicles & Gas it was up 1.4% vs. views for 0.8%. Industrial Production beat expectations as well gaining 1.6% m/m. That's in stark contrast to last month's -1.3% and the consensus for 0.9%. The report also showed Manufacturing Output up 1.2% vs. estimates for 0.7%. And the Capacity Utilization Rate rose to 76.4% vs. last month's 75.2% and views for 75.8%. Business Inventories also beat, coming in at 0.7% vs. the consensus for 0.6%. And the Housing Market Index rose to 83 from last month's 80 and views for the same. With Q4 GDP expected to accelerate into the end of the year, I'm expecting these types of reports to keep getting better and better. We'll get another look at the economy today with MBA Mortgage Applications, and the Housing Starts and Permits report. With stocks trading near their all-time highs, it won't take much to send them even higher. The S&P has already made 70 new highs this year alone. And it looks like there's a lot more upside to go.
