Plus 5 New Strong Buys for Today S&P And Nasdaq Lead Market Gains Image: Bigstock Stocks closed mixe

Plus 5 New Strong Buys for Today [Kevin Matras] Profit from the Pros By Kevin Matras Executive Vice President [Zacks Investment Research] S&P And Nasdaq Lead Market Gains Image: Bigstock Stocks closed mixed again yesterday. But this time the rally was led by the S&P (up 0.77%) and the Nasdaq (up 2.01%), while the Dow and the Russell 2000 were down. That's the inverse of the day before when the Dow and the Russell were in the green, while the S&P and Nasdaq were in the red. The markets are still cheering the news on the progress for a vaccine (on Monday, Pfizer and BioNTech announced their COVID-19 vaccine has a 90% efficacy rate at preventing infection). Same goes for the progress on therapeutics (on Tuesday, Eli Lilly announced their antibody treatment will be made available later this week). There's still a lot more work to be done. But it's nice to see more treatments hitting the market, and that we're getting closer and closer to a vaccine. In fact, the positive vaccine news contributed to Goldman Sachs' bullish outlook for the S&P. They upped their target for the S&P this year from 3,600 to 3,700 (that's another 3.56% from where we are today). They are also now expecting the index to reach 4,300 by the end of next year (that's a 16% increase from the 3,700 level). And they're projecting 4,600 by the end of 2022 (that's another 6.98% on top of everything else). All in all, that represents a 28.76% increase from where we are today. Pretty exciting stuff. And if you can get into the right stocks, it could be a lot more than that. So make sure you're taking full advantage of this market. Separately, if you're looking for new stocks to buy on this next leg up, be sure to look at financials, tech, and business service stocks. They're expected to do great. And one way to participate in all three is through the revolutionary blockchain technology. More and more companies are using blockchain in their businesses as it provides an incorruptible digital ledger for all types of transactions and data transfers -- from financial, to shipping, to health records, and more. It's truly revolutionizing virtually all industries that rely on security, cost efficiency, and speed. And the companies using it are as impressive as the companies providing it. This includes titans of industries like IBM, Intel, and Nvidia, and plenty of innovative start-ups as well. This must have technology has created an explosive industry and is poised for massive gains. It's also a smart way to participate in the booming cryptocurrency market.
