Profit from the Pros Small-Caps And Big-Tech Surge Again Stocks were mostly higher yesterday. And the Russell 2000 Small-Cap Index led the way as it powered on to new all-time highs, yet again. The Nasdaq Index also made new all-time highs as well. But we also saw impressive gains from big-tech! They've been shining all year and I expect that to continue. So don't let the spectacular gains of small-caps drown out the phenomenal gains of some big-cap names. You do have to be a bit more selective in which big-caps you pick. But there's plenty to be made if you latch onto the right ones. Trade tensions seemed to ease a little bit yesterday after Germany's leading auto makers said they would back a plan to remove all tariffs for cars between the EU and the US. Currently, there is a 10% tariff on US autos going into the EU, and a 2.5% tariff on EU cars coming into the US. The German auto makers would like to see trade tensions ratcheted down and this would definitely be a step in the right direction. This proposal is being presented to the White House. Hopefully more progress like this can be seen elsewhere and with other countries. In other news, MBA Mortgage Applications rose 5.1% with the Purchase Index up 4.0% and Refi's up 6.0%. Existing Homes Sales didn't see the same growth as new home sales. But the housing market as a whole has been doing quite well. And with new homes leading the way, it's no wonder builder confidence has been rising. There will always be worries that pop-up in the news. But the economy is sizzling right now and nothing seems to be getting in its way. In fact, the latest forecast from the Atlanta Fed's GDP Now forecast estimates Q2 '18 GDP at 4.7%. Wow! The economy is looking great. And that's why the market keeps on going up. Make sure you're in it!
