It's been one of those months! I broke my morning rule of checking my phone before I had meditated or exercised. I regretted it as soon as I opened and read “UNSUBSCRIBE me from your list immediately.” Followed by another one. "God, what had I said this time?" I was waiting for the doors to open to the morning yoga class the Blog Her Conference had put on. I was tired from a late evening. But, I was tired because of so much more.  It had been a tough couple of weeks of change and pressure and me coming up against me not knowing what the hell I'm doing but having to figure it out because I don't have any other option. “I just don't think I can do this anymore.” From the outside my life looks amazing, and don't get me wrong, I love it and it is, but sometimes I get so tired. From the outside you don't see the hustle that it requires. And you don't see or feel the vulnerability you feel every time you whisper and the whole world hears, hoping that it won't shout back. I don't know what I had done this time, but I swallowed the lump and walked through the doors. Let me do my yoga first and figure it out later. It's why yoga and meditation is so important to me and the way I prefer to start my day. It grounds me, gives me strength, and let's every other thing melt away. Just that one hour gave me space to look at those emails without my bruised heart. There were more complaints. "Hang on a minute, this is weird. They're saying I'm sending multiple emails a day. " Oh no. I've been hacked. All I could think of was how I'd let you all down. That I was now attacking your inboxes over and over again. I raced back to my room to quickly stop it and missed most of the first morning of the conference in a panic. It didn't make sense that people were abusing me for not having an unsubscribe link at the bottom of my email (it's law btw and every one of my emails has them) and people were contacting me via my contact form to request the unsubscribe instead of just replying to my emails. I started investigating further and realised it wasn't me sending the emails to any of you. They were being sent to complete strangers. I was spamming people around the world who I didn't even know! Can you believe the choices people make in life? Someone, using multiple email address not connected to us, is hacking addresses around the globe and sending them emails of our blog posts and logo. I have no idea what they would gain from this other than sabotaging our brand. That's why people were contacting us via our contact form. They were so irate they searched for our brand online and found our website. I'm sure there are hundreds more who haven't tried to find us who now think yTravel is a spammer! There is absolutely nothing we can do about it. We cannot shut this person down as they are using their own servers and email addresses. So my job for the past few days is to reply to these angry people and explain that it is not us, that we're a reputable brand, and unfortunately I can't make the spam emails to them stop. Why do I tell you this? To help you to see what can happen when we feel tired, vulnerable. It’s easy for things to trigger you and you can quite quickly collapse, and quit, into your self pity party. They are okay to have by the way. Sometimes the release is just what you need. But make sure you have a self care plan in place. Something you can do to help you forget about your problems and failings of the current moment so you can slip into the present moment. That’s usually all you need to find the strength and clarity to continue and solve the real problem. My spammer problem has not been solved, but at least I’m still here. And you are too. Thank you. Caz P.S. My favourite quote from the BlogHer conference was from Serena Williams, "Pressure is a Privilege."
