Emily, the owner of my co-working space is hosting several virtual events for us since none of us can no longer come into work. The morning meeting we have is what gave me inspiration to send you daily messages of hope. Those meetings are my lifesaver right now. Through her research from those are ahead of us in China and South Korea with this crisis, she learned the two most important things to help people get through the self-isolation were - Community - Mental Health She bought on a mental health practitioner to one of our virtual meetings last week, who taught us two simple questions to ask yourself each day as you are confronted with self-isolation and your fears over what is happening. - Where am I at? With this question, you want to name how you feel. And however, you feel is okay. Your emotions are there in your body whether you name them or not. Naming them simply brings unity to your mind, body and spirit. It's so simple. You don't even have to do anything with them, just recognize they are there and allow yourself grace to feel and experience, with compassion, whatever comes from that. - What do I need today? You can split it into morning, midday and night if you want. Make it simple and attend to that need. Practice self-care and out in any needed boundaries. If all you need in the morning is a cuddle, then ask your home bound partner to give you one. I am more than happy to be the person who listens to the answers to those questions. Sometimes speaking them to someone helps immensely. I don't even have to respond. Simply say, "no need to respond", if you don't require that and just want to let it off your chest. Stay safe. Be well. Embrace Joy Caroline If you wish to stop receiving our emails or change your subscription options, please [manage your subscription](=). PO Box 677, Cary, NC 27518, US
