The unusual things that happen  We had a very unusual first full day in New York City - getting in

The unusual things that happen  We had a very unusual first full day in New York City - getting interviewed live on two online streaming TV shows - Cheddar TV and Little Things. It was amazing how nervous I felt. Not about being interviewed or what I was going to say, but purely about how I looked! Can you believe that? It's upsetting that this is the kind of world we live in, where this is so important. But, if this the kind of world I'm choosing to live in then I have to learn ways to embrace it. I live a flip flop kinda lifestyle so hair and make up are not really my thing. When I first heard of the interview bookings, I freaked out to Alix, (the amazing lady who organizes this for us) "Do I have to take care of my hair and makeup?" Unfortunately yes! I had two choices. Let the freak out and fear stop me, or work out a plan to overcome it. This is the constant ups and downs when you are growing your own business. There is a never ending presence of discomfort. It has to be there as the only way you grow is by pushing out your boundaries. It brings about an intense amount of fear and insecurity. I so often want to quit because of it. Eventually I take a deep breath, stand up straight, remind myself of what it is I want to achieve and know that if I don't make the big leap, I'll always remain in the safe zone keeping everything the same. I love helping other people travel more. I love sharing travel tips and getting on TV is one much bigger way I can do this. So, after getting highlights in my hair, and trying unsuccessfully all week to style my hair decently, I discovered New York blow out bars! These things are amazing!! You rock up, they shampoo your hair, blow dry it and style it for you. There was one around the corner from our hotel, so I booked in and let them take care of it and it lasted all day for both interviews. It was a worthy investment as it took away that fear and worry. I also had the makeup worry, but after a few YouTube videos and some practice I think I got that handled myself. Now I was free to concentrate on being present on camera and sharing the best tips that I could. The first interview on Little Things, Craig ended up joining me. It was very upbeat, conversational and positive. I did catch in the camera though I was having fly away hair problems and managed to sneak a pull back in!! Can you believe it? What you worry about most can often happen! My second interview with Cheddar was different, a little more formal and directly about travel tips. I was hit with panic and overwhelm just minutes before sitting down in the chair. The interview was held on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. As soon as I walked in and saw all the action (which was thrilling) and then the set up with the cameras, my stomach rolled and the voice said, "I don't think you've got what it takes for this big time" Thankfully Alix was there to support me and so I just took a deep breath and said, "I'll show you. My hair and makeup is done, there ain't no stopping me now." Most of the things we fear {NAME} can be overcome with a simple plan and help from others. Don't let those pesky fears stop you from reaching out those boundaries of possibilities. You never know where it might take you. The bell rang right after our interview, which I thought was very symbolic. It was also kinda cool to be on the trading floor of the NY Stock Exchange to hear that. If you are in New York, we'd love to meet you. [Here are the details of our meet up happening tomorrow](.
