Hello
"You are not young anymore." Something we've all heard at one point or another. You are not young enough to experiment or too old enough to start on your own.
But are you ever really? Mastanamma wouldn't agree with that. Mastanamma, a woman from South India, passed away at the age of 107. However, she could tell us all a thing or two about starting something new at a really unexpected age.
Mastanamma shot to fame as one of the oldest YouTubers when she launched her own YouTube channel in 2016 managed by her grandson and his friend. She became popular on the platform because of her cooking of local and unusual dishes. In her videos, you can see her peeling vegetables, burning her own wood to cook, and serve it on the traditional banana leaf. Talk about being inspiring!
So, the next time someone tells you that you are too young or too old to try something new, tell them about Mastanamma!
Here's to the "grandmother with a toothless smile", for being such an inspiration.
Cheers,
Team YourStory
