[View this email in your browser] The week kicked off on a sobering note with the Armed Forces Remembrance Day as [Nigeria remembered]the supreme sacrifice members of the Nigerian Military had paid to keep our sovereignty, and preserve it from attacks, both foreign and domestic. Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Abu Ali, Seargent Mu’azu Ibrahim, Seargents Muazu Ibrahim, Bassey Okon, Hussani Jafaru, Cpl. Chukwu Simon, Private Salisu Lawal and Seaman Patrick Paul- these are just a few of the men who gave their lives in service to the nation, Nigerians sent [goodwill messages on Twitter] and the President made certain to [speak with the troops in Sambisa] and those on a peace keeping mission in Liberia. As if to shake everyone out of their sadness,[Aisha's daring words to the President] made the rounds on Twitter NG, as people debated the civility or otherwise of her words. Contradictions, contradictions. This is what you can say about the land,[Nigeria and its people]. And if the beauty of Lagos is its contradictions- rich and poor living together in harmony- this article seeks to understand why the poor are being driven from the water front communities they have come to know as home for so long a time, just so that Lagos can make larger room for the rich. These ones are now [homeless by design]. Ladies and gentlemen, introducing Peter Adogun, our very own Mike Ross. This dude is badass! Never been to Law school but has been practising as a lawyer for 10 years. That's not the best. This "legal luminary" has won cases at the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court, guys! Do have any idea what it means to win a case at the apex court of the land? But no, the green monster did not allow the Illorin Bar Association to let this man thrive. They threw him under the bus weeps All I know is that[Suits was based off of this guy's story] but white privilege being what it is, they opted for a White guy to cast. Plus Mike Ross is better looking. Closely following in Adogun's footsteps is Matthew Obobo Solomon. He clinched a juicy job job in one of our ministries by posing as T.Y Danjuma's son. Wow! [Identity theft with a twist.] Man must chop? For the design inclined, [aren't these chairs inspired]? We have to go, so as we wrap this up, we'd just like to warn you not to be unfortunate and dip your fingers into that sliver of cake, or as the writer put it so succinctly, children, [stay away from weed] Have a great week.
