The day's top stories: Groundhog Day

It is a movie about a weatherman, played by Bill Murray, who repeats the same day over and over until he learns the necessary lessons. Many times, it feels like Nigeria is experiencing Groundhog Day, and one of those examples is what we begin the news with today. AY the record breaker ‘30 days in Atlanta’, produced by Ayo ‘AY’ Makun has gotten a Guinness World Record for being the [highest grossing film] ever in Nollywood. It will be interesting to see when that record is broken. TMB Our media blog has stumbled on the [most salacious] Nigerian gossip blog to date. Landlord in Edo state evicts tenants for supporting APC As the Edo elections draw closer, it is decision time for many voters. 5 tenants found that they support a different party from their landlord, [and were thrown out]. This cannot possibly be legal. Perhaps he was just looking for an excuse. A house divided There are now two Boko Haram factions: One led by Abubakar Shekau, and the other led by Abu Musab Al-Barnawi. Those factions [are now fighting] among themselves. It could hasten the end of the group, because we all know what they say about a house divided against itself.
