[Middleware]( is a new, powerful security feature that allows you to build reusable logic and apply it across a workspace and API groups. Xano’s Middleware runs before and/or after your API runs. It can be used to perform various tasks like authentication, error handling, logging, etc. It can also help to optimize the performance of an application by caching data, compressing responses, or distributing load across multiple servers, although those are more advanced use cases. It’s a great way to enforce policy across lots of APIs and keep things organized. ⚙️ How does Middleware work? Middleware runs at two key points of execution: before input validation and before a response is delivered. Similar to custom functions, Middleware is reusable across multiple APIs. Unlike custom functions, however, Middleware allows you to build and maintain reusable logic all in one place and use it wherever you need. [Middleware]( You can apply middleware at the API, API group, or workspace level, enabling you to quickly apply middleware to as many of your APIs as you need, or even your entire application, in one swing. 💡An example of Middleware in action Here’s a simple example video of how Middleware might be helpful in your application. [Middleware]( 🚀 Middleware sounds great! How can I get started? Middleware is currently open for beta. If you’re interested in trying Middleware out, please [fill out this form](. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
