The Month of Giving is here: Consider a gift that keeps on giving. [Image]( WTOP’s November Month of Giving is in partnership with the National MS Society. It’s a cause near and dear to our hearts because we’ve witnessed our colleagues’ diagnoses firsthand. We asked WTOP Senior Sports Reporter Dave Johnson to share his story. Dave Johnson's story is not unlike many others diagnosed with MS. We ask that during a month where we typically take time to reflect and give thanks, you consider a donation no matter the size! "Hi, it’s WTOP’s Dave Johnson here, I’m the face behind WTOP’s partnership with the National MS Society. With your support of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society my heart is now stronger than anything else in my body. I have gone from denial to defiance. Four years ago I did not make the connection at the time but, my brain and body were not connecting. Struggles to walk had to be a bad right knee. Weakness in my right hand, must be too much time on a computer. Ten MRI’s and a spinal tap later, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. How did I not know. It was my mom’s disease. MS cut short her life at 43. MS I hate you. MS I don’t like you in my brain and trying to bring my body down. I fall, I drop things, I claim victory when I button my shirt. Go ahead MS give me your best shot . I will win the battle my Mom lost because breakthroughs have given me a fighting chance.” Thank you, as always for your support! Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
