Watch Benjamin William Hastings Sing "Gratitude" Check out the intimate Take 2 performance of "Gratitude" from Benjamin William Hastings. Take 2 is our brand new segment featuring covers of some of our favorite worship songs for the church led by our favorite worship leaders. [     Watch Now    Â](  Read an Encouraging Word on Gratitude from Temitope Thanksgiving is not just a holiday, but also an invitation to examine how much gratitude resides in our hearts throughout the year. If you're like me, then seeing the "bad" or unsettling things in life isn't difficult. They seem to be constantly screaming all around us (or at us on social media) whether it be news of another racial injustice or the latest "fallen" church leader. Before we know it, we start walking with our heads down and if we're honest, start grumbling. Yet, in kindness, God meets us in these moments and lovingly lifts our heads through gratitude. Psalm 121 exhorts us to lift our eyes (and heads) and behold our help - "the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip" In a very practical way, our lifted heads allow us to see everything around us—more specifically, the faithfulness of God all around us. For me, my lifted head allows me to see how God has faithfully provided for family and friends and reconciled broken relationships. My foot has never slipped, and that changes how I walk and talk throughout the week. As I lead worship in weekend gatherings with my local church or others, this gratitude stirs my soul to “enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise” (Psalm 100:4), and encourages those I'm leading to do the same. I've learned that the antidote for gloomy days and a grumbling spirit is gratitude, and that truth is applicable every day of the year. I pray this Thanksgiving arms you and I with more weapons of gratitude on the battlefield of life. Keep your head up, friend! God is faithful.
