Interesting info Their blue feet come from nutrients in the fish they eat. The blue pigment can indicate how well nourished a booby is. The more intense the blue, the healthier the bird. One of six species of boobies, blue-footed boobies are clumsy on land but agile in the air. They dive into schools of fish from as high as 100 feet and can go 80 feet below the water surface to hunt. After deciding on a female to court, the male will flash the brightness of his feet around her by exaggerating his walk with higher and wider steps.
