Interesting info Dugongs are related to the three species of manatees. They're all referred to as sea cows. Manatees are mostly freshwater mammals, whereas dugongs are marine mammals. Also, manatees' tails resemble paddles, while a dugong's tail looks like a dolphin's. Just like manatees, dugongs are herbivores. Usually solitary or in pairs, they spend most of their time in seagrass beds, grazing on seagrasses. These shy, stocky mammals may grow to be 500–800 pounds and more than 10 feet long. They have poor vision but acute hearing.
