{NAME}, help deliver life-saving aid to children and families [Emergency Appeal]( Dear {NAME}, Early Monday, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck near the border of Türkiye and Syria. The death toll is rising by the minute, with thousands of casualties already reported. Thousands more have been injured, with ongoing aftershocks threatening additional injuries and deaths. This region is home to an already vulnerable population after more than a decade of conflict. Now collapsed buildings and damaged roads have left children and families stranded in the cold and snow with no food, water, or other necessities. [Give Now]( Our teams in the region are already responding. With your help, we can provide urgently needed aid to children and families reeling in the wake of this devastating earthquake. [Please give now]( to help people get access to temporary shelters, heaters, clean water, protection for vulnerable children, and critically needed healthcare. [People walk on heaps of rubble amid a scene of devastation in Syria, where a powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake and a series of aftershocks rocked central Türkiye and Syria on February 6, 2023.]( One of our colleagues in northern Syria shared this harrowing account: "While we were sleeping, the house started shaking; I immediately ran to my children; I did not know which one to carry ... a minute of time was like years of helplessness and fear, and the fear continues with the aftershocks. Most of the people are on the streets in the snow and rain ... and many [are] still trapped under the rubble." Our hearts break for those affected by this devastating disaster. Please join us in praying for: - Comfort for families shocked by loss of loved ones - Safety for those responding in search and rescue efforts - Hope for families hurting in a season of unrest and uncertainty Thank you for your heart to serve the most vulnerable and for your generosity in giving to support them. We’re so grateful for you. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. — Psalm 34:18 (NIV) --------------------------------------------------------------- [Facebook]( [Twitter]( [World Vision Youtube Channel]( [Instagram]( --------------------------------------------------------------- World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.
