It’s Friday morning in New York City where local taxpayers are [on the hook for nearly $325 million]( that NYC Health + Hospitals approved for contract security services at migrant shelters. The decision was made in late October and is almost double the amount that the city’s public health system spent just months earlier for security expenses for the more than a dozen facilities citywide.
