The ruling came after the driver, Raul Rivera, was arrested for interrupting a press conference Rodriguez was holding last week. Rivera, who is also a pro-driver activist, was captured on video screaming at Rodriguez saying he was “selling out the city” and ripping up a copy of Rodriguez’s speech. Here’s what else is going on: - Several Queens high school students were suspended after taking to the hallways to call for the [removal of a Jewish teacher]( who posted a picture to social media of herself holding a sign in support of Israel. - A man died after he was [struck by multiple vehicles]( on the Bruckner Expressway in the Bronx Monday night. - Last year, New York became the eighth state to offer flag football for girls. This year, the [number of participating schools]( has more than tripled. - Two women were arrested and charged with hate crimes after [allegedly attacking a Jewish woman]( who confronted them on the Upper West Side for taking down posters of missing Israeli hostages kidnapped by Hamas. - Police arrested a man in Connecticut who [stole a vehicle]( with a service dog inside while its owner ran into a soup kitchen. The dog, named Bungee, was unharmed and reunited with his owner. - The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office agreed to [drop cases]( against two men who spent decades in prison for separate killings investigated by detectives at the 30th Precinct in Harlem, which was known in the 1990s as being corrupt. - For months, two lawsuits challenging the legality of New York’s dispensary licensing program have been slowing down the rollout of recreational cannabis. But now that the state’s Cannabis Control Board agreed to accept a settlement in the lawsuits, hundreds of entrepreneurs will likely be able to [move forward with plans]( to open dispensaries. - You’ll no longer be able to walk into this Bushwick Burger King and be instantly transported back to the 90s because it’s [undergoing a modern makeover.]( - The famous Bow Bridge in Central Park has also [temporarily closed for repairs](.
