The changes are subject to feedback from New Yorkers, but officials said they want the area to look like other areas of the Manhattan thoroughfare where officials in recent years have added more space for pedestrians and cyclists. Simon sent Gothamist an expletive-laden response to the story, claiming he mailed the payment on the day he received the ticket. Single subway or bus rides increased by 15 cents, from $2.75 to $2.90, a 5% increase.
