([WNYC News]( Julia Salazar's Saga, In and Out of Her District For the Democratic Socialists of America—as an organization—it's not ideal that their second candidate of national prominence (after Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez) has such a confusing record of political and personal flip-flops. But within Salazar's State Senate district, in North Brooklyn, voter "inattentiveness" may be a bigger hurdle for her campaign. ([WNYC]( Daily Beast]( Elsewhere in Brooklyn... Blake Morris, the progressive Democrat challenging State Senator Simcha Felder in the primary, is trying to get enough Jewish voters in Midwood and Borough Park to a) know who he is, and b) vote against an incumbent who has spent years securing considerable amounts of state money for local projects. ([Gothamist]( The Proxy War in NJ's 11th Democrat Mikie Sherrill has Joe Biden and Gabby Giffords in her corner. Republican Jay Webber has Vice President Mike Pence in his. And while both Congressional hopefuls have touted their independence, the increasing attention from national figures has underscored just how influential this North Jersey race will be on the makeup of the House next year.
